Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s/ Master Degree in Education with specialization in history, geography or any related field
-IELTS Score of 6.5 (Academic)
Experience:
-Experience of no less than 3 cumulative years in the Same role
Job summary:
The Head of Department (HOD) – Social Studies is responsible for providing highly effective academic leadership and management within the department in line with the DMES vision, mission, and core values. The HOD Social Studies is accountable for raising the levels of progress and attainment of students through the effective implementation of the UAE Ministry of Education Curriculum Standards (Social Studies) in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The HOD Social Studies is responsible for ensuring that the curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment programs yield the highest standards of student achievement and academic excellence. The HOD Social Studies develops and evaluates the educational provision for all students, including students of determination and gifted and talented students.
The HOD Social Studies supports the Senior Leadership Team and the School Executive Principal in the implementation of the UAE MOE Curriculum, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) standards, and the Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) standards for school inspection and accreditation.
