Payment & refund policy
The following terms and conditions apply to school fee instalment plans offered by Dubai Modern Education School (DMES).
Service Plans & Pricing Scope
DMES offers parents/guardians flexible options to pay annual tuition fees, from full annual payment to a maximum of 8 instalments.
- Full Payment: 100% of annual tuition fees paid in advance. A 5% tuition fee discount may apply, subject to school approval and applicable terms.
- 2–8 Instalments: The first instalment is 40% of the annual tuition fees, with the remaining 60% paid according to the approved instalment schedule.
- The 8-instalment option runs from September 2026 to April 2027.
- Instalment plans apply to tuition fees only. Other approved fees and charges are payable separately unless stated otherwise.
Billing Policy & Automatic Recurring Payment Declaration
By selecting an instalment plan and providing the required consent, the parent/guardian authorises DMES and its payment provider to automatically process recurring payments according to the selected plan and approved payment schedule.
Cancellation, Withdrawal & Cut-off Policy
To cancel an instalment plan due to student withdrawal or transfer, the parent/guardian must submit the required written request to the school in accordance with the Parent–School Contract and applicable KHDA requirements.
Requests must be submitted before the applicable payment-processing cut-off. Requests received after a payment has entered processing may not stop the upcoming payment.
Cancellation does not remove any tuition fees already due or incurred.
Registration & Re-registration Payments
- For existing students, the re-registration deposit is up to 5% of annual tuition fees or AED 500, whichever is higher, and will be deducted from tuition fees.
- For new students, a 10% registration deposit is required and will be deducted from the tuition fees for the term in which the student enrols.
- Any registration or re-registration payment already made is included within the required 40% first instalment.
Payment Failure & Returned Cheques
If a recurring payment fails, the outstanding amount remains payable by the parent/guardian.
- A AED 1,000 administrative charge applies to each returned cheque.
- The returned cheque amount and applicable charges must be settled within five working days.
- After this period, a AED 100 per day late fee may apply in accordance with the school's approved payment policy.
Instalment Payment Methods
Instalment payments may be made using payment methods approved by the school, including:
- Card
- Bank transfer
- Post-dated cheques
- Recurring payment methods available through the school's payment provider
Parents/Guardians choosing an instalment plan must complete the required payment commitment and consent process.
Employer- & Charity-Sponsored Tuition Fees
Parents/Guardians receiving employer or charity sponsorship must provide the required official commitment letter.
The sponsorship must be verified and accepted by the school. Until verification is completed, the parent/guardian remains responsible for applicable payment deadlines.
Approval & Completion of Registration
All instalment plans are subject to school approval.
Registration or re-registration is considered complete once the required payment, supporting documents, consent and approved payment plan have been received and completed.
These terms must be read together with the Parent–School Contract, the school's KHDA-approved School Fees Fact Sheet, and applicable KHDA requirements.
